MissOC 2013-14, Round 2: Sheila

The crack-boom of far-off thunder seemed to shake the sand as two small figures reclined on the dunes a safe distance from the tide. Sheila tore her gaze away from the threads of light on the horizon and flashed a grin back at her friend, huddled a few feet away with the camera. Ihei was obviously not enjoying himself as much as she was, but sticking to it bravely nonetheless. Sheila, on the other hand, was thrilled. She usually stayed away from large bodies of water, as a rule, unless it was certain that she was the only living thing in it. She could never be too careful, as a walking bio-hazard. She did not want to be responsible for accidentally electrocuting all of the other contestants just because she was spooked by a fish or something. But hey, who needed sunburns and seaweed between her toes when she could have a view like this instead?

Sheila's 2nd round in the Miss-OC-Pageant! Frankly, she would be dumbfounded at the fact that she came this far, so that was a splendid little confidence boost to get her ready for this round. Since being close to a large body of water with lots of potential casualties around would stress her out, Ihei took her out for photos after everyone else left, and then they got lucky and were caught in a storm.
